They say age is just a number, but turning 39 feels like a milestone I want to pause and truly savor. There’s a quiet kind of magic in this age—a blend of knowing who you are and still being excited about who you’re becoming. And honestly? It’s okay to be 39.

I’m writing this tonight, sitting in the stillness after a day that felt exactly the way I needed it to. I wasn’t entirely sure how to spend my day off today. When you’re used to being the one coordinating, managing, and “doing,” the idea of doing something just for myself can feel a little daunting. But I chose joy, and I chose my people.

I took my son, my little cousin, and my mom out for a day of pure, unadulterated fun at Wetpark Adventure Lagoon. Watching them laugh, splash, and just be kids was the best gift I could have asked for. We capped it off with a late lunch at Shakey’s, the kind of comfort food that just feels like a celebration and when we finally made it home, my Uncle Chris surprised us with even more food to share.

There’s something so special about all of us huddled together in the condo, sharing stories and plates, the space filled with warmth and noise. It was simple, perfectly imperfect, and exactly where I wanted to be.

To make the night even better, the premiere of the local adaptation of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay dropped at Netflix PH tonight. Having my favorites—the forever inspo Anne Curtis, my kuya Carlo Aquino, and Joshua Garcia—all on screen together on my birthday? I couldn’t help but feel so giddy! It’s one of my favorite KDrama, and seeing it come to life with this cast feels like a little wink from the universe just for me.

As I posted on IG earlier, I’ve been thinking a lot about the girl I used to be. I really hope my younger self is proud of me today. I’m slowly, steadily checking off those dreams one by one. Malayo pa, pero malayo na.

It’s been a beautiful day.
P.S. Missed you today, my Angelo, who’s at work. Can’t wait to celebrate properly when you’re home.
