Good food after a long drive to the south is a must! Most of the long drives we had in Quezon ends up in Kamayan sa Palaisdaan for a scrumptious and well-deserved lunch. It is the first and original kamayan floating restaurant in the Philippines. It is well-loved by not only the locals but the tourists as well. If you are looking for fresh seafood, you are in for a treat! Tayabas, Quezon is known for its delicious seafood!
The palaisdaan has around 50+ nipa huts floating on top of a fish pond, which humble beginnings started from selling fresh tilapia from the owner’s own fishpond to cooking the fish that he sells on the spot. It also has 2 halls that serves as a function area for bigger parties.

Their best sellers are their inihaw na Pla-pla (also known as Tilapia) and inihaw na hito. But we also loved and enjoyed all the good food that we ordered. I loved their inihaw na tuna belly, pancit cant at ginataang tilapia the most. Trivia: All their chefs are Tayabas locals, that is why you get to expect authentic Tayabas dishes when you are here.

Upon the entrance, you can also see a real sized airplane which is actually a restaurant called Air Summit Gourmet. It is the first and only airplane restaurant in the country offering a fine-dining service and enjoy it inside the cockpit.
