Davao City Tour (day 2)

So while everyone went rafting,

Jhe and I went around the city and shopped for pasalubong!

We rode a jeepney going to see the City Hall, City Council and right in front of it, is the Davao Cathedral/San Pedro Cathedral where Jhe and I also stopped by for a short prayer.

We walked few blocks going to China Town.

Where I was able to try taho with milk that tastes like peanut butter.

We also dropped by the Pasalubong Center and People’s Park (but didn’t go inside anymore).

After that, I got so tired walking so we rode a jeepney again going to Aldevinco Pasalubong Center.

I thought this will look similar with Boracay’s D’Mall stalls but it is different. Each store has it’s own boutique, complete with a glass door and window so you could see what’s inside.

I was able to buy t-shirts for Jhe and I at P100 each, shawls that ranges from 50-70php, 4 for 100 preserved mini durian magnets, batik pajama for jhe and 7 for P100 Durian/Suha/Mango/Mangosteen candies.

We went outside Aldevinco, where the fruitstand is. We bought Suha at P640 for 10 KG, P230 for 3 Marangs and P150 for 1KG of Mangosteen. Didn’t buy frozen durian because we don’t have a refrigerator at our dormitel.

We went back to our dormitel to leave the stuff we bought and also to eat lunch. Then from Mt. Apo st. where our dormitel is, we headed to Crocodile Park for just P140 via cab.

At Davao Crocodile Park (Kids: P75 each; Adult: P150 each for the entrance which includes an entry to the Butterfly Sanctuary and Tribu K’Mindanawan Cultural Village which we weren’t able to visit)..

We took a picture with the crocodile at P40.

Then walked around to see the hundreds of crocodiles..

They also house lizards, birds and ostriches.

Here’s the huge crocodile in Davao named Pangil which is the oldest and longest (19-FT) crocodile in our country. They say he is a 200 million years survivor.

After our tour, we headed to the tattoo booth because Jhe wanted to have a henna tattoo. He had his for P350.

When our friends got back from rafting, we met them at the Crocodile Park and then we headed back to the dormitel to rest and dress up.

We had dinner at Penong’s after everyone has freshen up.

The ambiance is great. The food is delicious. The thing is that made me disappointed was when I saw our order – bicol express and pinakbet – they exactly looked a like. 😦

The night ended early because we were so tired and had to wake up early for our ferry trip to Samal Island.
