I really have no words, only feelings in deep ire. The Glory starts its first episode with school violence, bullying, sexual assault and with no remorse. The Glory revolves around Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye Kyo), a less-fortunate high school student who was relentlessly bullied, both physically and mentally by a group of privileged students whom because of their wealth and connections, never saw the consequences of their actions. She spent her post-high school life scarred and busy preparing for her abusers’ revenge as she vowed that they would eventually pay for what they did to her. Bullying someone is never right and it is always the bullied who’ll live their life with a scar, for a lifetime. Some not even for a lifetime, because they aren’t strong enough or doesn’t have a strong support system and could just do something to stop this by ending his/her life.
Parents, let’s do our best to fill our children with love and support. Let them feel that we always got their back, no matter what. Let’s not pressure them to do things that they don’t want to. But support them as they try to find their place in this world. Let’s raise them in a happy environment, with no hatred in their hearts. It’s hard, especially in the society that we live in, but I know we can all do it.
To sum it all, let’s all BE KIND. For everyone we meet may be fighting a battle no one knows about. BE KIND. Be someone that you want your child to grow up to be, as they mirror us and they are always watching and listening to what we are saying. ALWAYS CHOOSE KINDNESS.
Netflix dropped The Glory’s first 8-episodes last December 30, 2022 and will be releasing its part 2 on March 10, 2023 with another 8 episodes. You can watch Glory here.
