A Miraculous Halloween

During this pandemic, Coco has came to love the Disney Channel show, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. At first, I couldn’t get what he was always saying, until sat down and watched it with him. I realized how much he has grown up because the characters are quite older that Catboy, Owlette and Gekko from PJ Masks whom were toddlers, while Marinette and Adrien are in their mid-teens. My Coco is no longer a baby but I think he can be considered a tween. HUHU.
Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir’s Marinette and Adrien are two normal teens who transform into their superheroes personas – Ladybug and Cat Noir, using magical jewels called the Miraculous when evil threatens their city. Set in Paris, the City of Love as you may know, and we know how teens are, both teens show struggle with their feelings for each other, not knowing each other’s secret identities, and liking each other – Marinette is in love with Adrien but not Cat Noir, while Adrien is in love with Ladybug but not Marinette. Weird enough.
Anyway, because I know how much Coco loves this show and we know how I am during Halloween season. As early as August, I started to prepare for Coco’s Halloween At Home celebration, since we still couldn’t go out and have events such as this. Of course, Coco’s costume will be Cat Noir, as he was requesting. Luckily, I didn’t have to spend so much because I found it in Shopee (Here’s the link where I got ours: costume/Large https://shp.ee/6j9yj7d). I kept it for weeks, but realized I also have to have him fit it the day that Disney shut down in the Philippines. He was so sad that day, but when I asked him to open the package, he was so teary eyed. Tears of joy, perhaps!
He wanted me to wear a Ladybug costume. I was about to check out an adult size. But I realize I’m not comfortable. So I just thought of looking for a polka long sleeves, which I failed to find. So I got a plain long sleeves top (this is were I got it: https://shp.ee/aba9yh7) and had the polka printed on it via Celestia’s Crafts. If you want the adult Ladybug costume, here is the link too (https://shp.ee/2qq79qp).
I got a couple of party supplies via Shopee as well. I’m so glad that they have it in Shopee. I thought I was going to have a hard time DIYing decors for this theme. I am especially happy for the balloons, especially the Ladybug shaped one. I also did the balloon arch by myself. I set them all up by our study table area. This is the whole set up that I made.
Here are the links of the Miraculous Party Decors: Ladybug Shaped-balloon, LadyBug and Cat Noir Balloon, Miraculous Cups, Miraculous Straws, Miraculous Popcorn box, Red and Black polka balloons – all came from https://shp.ee/ctegebp. Silver curtain from https://shp.ee/zxwzqcp. Plain red and plain black balloons from https://shp.ee/mnzq9ip

I also got a Halloween themed DIY Cake Designing Kit from Dodin Desserts, which was actually a last minute decision because I saw the ad late. But I’m so happy we have our favorite cake to design that day. I believe you can still order these DIY sets for other special occasions. Send a message to inquire at Dodin Desserts Instagram.

I got a Cat Noir Piñata from Piñata Manila PH. It was the star of our day. Coco was so kilig with his Cat Noir friend. I got him his favorite treats like Mini Oreos, Kinder Joy, Choco Baby, Trolli Strawberry Puffs, Pocky Cookies and Cream and a lot more – instead of putting candies that he wouldn’t even it. I’m glad they all fit the hole of the piñata. You can inquire for your own piñata at Piñata Manila PH Instagram.

Sweet Surprise Manila was such a sweet suprise for us. They made our Cat Noir tsoko piñata. I must say, the chocolate they used taste really good. I also requested them to put imported chocolate instead of gummies and candies that Coco won’t even eat. You can inquire for your own tsoko piñata at the Sweet Surprise Manila Facebook.
I’m glad that Coco was so happy yesterday. He said that even if we only had our halloween celebration at home, he was still so happy, especially with the little surprises that I prepared for him. Coco’s appreciation made waking up early to set up and blow the balloons all worth it.
But of course, our mini Ladybug and Cat Noir cosplay didn’t end without our mini photoshoots which was so hard to do because we didn’t have any nice space here. But I think this would do. I’m happy with the result. Please also excuse my solo photo – I just have to have one. HAHA!
