Cultural Center of the Philippines Launches ARTS EXPRESS: CCP CHILDREN’S BIENNALE

The Cultural Center of the Philippines is launching ARTS EXPRESS: CCP CHILDREN’S BIENNALE, a month-long online creative expression biennale for children this November 2020.
CCP has curated children-oriented programs in order to develop creativity among these young minds, introduce them to the different art forms, let them discover their own creative expressions, and develop them as new arts audiences.

ccpkids2The Children’s Biennale opens with TRICKS AND MUSICAL TREATS: A PPO FAMILY CONCERT on October 31, 2020 at 4:00 PM. This annual orchestra appreciation concert for children and families moves to the online platform via Zoom and Batang Sining Facebook Page (Children’s Biennale), and shared on the CCP Facebook page and the PPO Facebook page. Subtitled “A Virtual Adventure in Camp Melodia,” it features past family concerts captured on film, and new content composed of pre-recorded performances by  select PPO members, with award-winning actor Liesl Batucan as host, and featuring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. Children are encouraged to watch and participate online in their best costumes. Winners of the Best Costume will get loot bags filled with special gifts!

ccpkids3Another Children’s Biennale event following Tricks and Musical Treats on the same date, is the premiere of MALA (Movies Adapted from Literary Arts), a new puppetry film series for kids! MALA is part of SINING SIGLA, a season-long virtual outreach program of the CCP Office of the President Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso. Directed by popular film and TV actor Xian Lim and written by premiere ventriloquist Ony Carcamo, MALA opens with  Ibong Adarna on October 31, 2020 at 5:45 PM, and streams on the CCP Office of the President Facebook page and shared on Batang Sining facebook page, and CCP facebook page.

With ARTS EXPRESS: CCP CHILDREN’S BIENNALE, CCP also launches the CCP Batang Sining facebook page as a platform for creative expression and collaboration opportunities of arts content for children, parents/guardians and teachers. It showcases various virtual activities that include CURTAINS UP!, ARTS eXPRESS, ARTs PLAYGROUND, PELIKULIT, ARTS CONNECT, and SPECIAL EVENTS composed of an e-Book Launch and Storytelling.

With this enriching content, young audiences of today are sure to enjoy learning about arts appreciation while honing their creativity and imbibing essential positive values!

  1. I MISS CCP. We used to perform there when I was in highschool and we’ve done a lot of activities in that place too. I am so glad to hear that they started creating educational programs to children. I hope it will continue…:) we need activities like this to educate them instead of watching nonsense tv programs….
