Wake Me Up When September Ends

I can’t imagine September ended in that way. It is like the song, “Wake Me Up When September Ends” is so applicable to what happened the past week.

It was a disaster month. Not only did half of Manila drowned but also there was EARTHQUAKE in Singapore. TSUNAMI in Samoa. EARTHQUAKE in Bali. Another TYPHOON on the way too.

Ondoy really destroyed our land, damaged millions of properties and killed hundreds of people.

But it is overwhelming that Pinoys didn’t stop helping the Ondoy victims, even the artistas. It just exemplified the phrase “ang sarap maging pinoy“, I hope it doesn’t end here. Sana wala ng calamity na mas matindi ang maganap para lang makita natin ang mga Pinoy na nagtutulungan.

This disaster made me realize that material things aren’t important. They will come and go. Madali lang sila palitan, ang important is yung kaligtasan ng bawat isa. Let this be an eye opener that in a split second anything could happen to us. Let’s have faith in God and ask for help that this won’t happen to us anymore. Not just to us, but with other nations as well.
