A Night of Magic Beyond My Wildest Dreams
Looking back on the night, it was a dream. Never in my whole life would I have expected myself to experience such a thing. I thought I’d just dress up, step inside, and call it a day, yet there I was, completely letting loose on the dance floor, shouting house pride chants alongside people I didn’t even know. Nope, that is usually so not me.
I never thought of this as healing my inner child, because honestly, I never even dared to dream of things like this for myself. But it was an experience every single Potterhead should do, even just once in their life. It unlocked something inside me. Standing there, I felt like a real student at Hogwarts. I never dreamt of it for myself—for my son, yes, but for me? Never in a million years. As a Potterhead since the year 2000, it was a magical, exemplifying feeling, and nothing will ever top it.
Speaking of my son: remember him as my little Harry Potter back in 2015, when he even won best costume during a Halloween event? Well, yes. He was actually named one of the four Yule Ball Champions the night we were there at the Yule Ball! Dressing him up as Harry Potter again after 11 years is something I never thought would happen again. Because unfortunately, I never quite managed to convert him into a full-blown Potterhead like me, though goodness knows I tried! I was in happy tears seeing him standing there as a grown-up Harry Potter. Thank you for indulging mommy, my Marcus!
