Pixar films hold a special place in my heart, and “Up” has always been one of my top contenders. The story of Carl Fredricksen, his unwavering love for Ellie, and their fantastical adventure to Paradise Falls is pure magic. It wasn’t just the film itself that made it so special, though. When my son Coco was a little baby, his round eyes and tufts of spiky hair had an uncanny resemblance to Russell, the enthusiastic Wilderness Explorer who joins Carl on his journey. Needless to say, “Up” became our go-to movie for those first precious months! (Coco even celebrated his 1st birthday, Up style)

Fast forward a few years, and Coco is now obsessed with LEGO and has been for the last 10 years. When my best friend surprised us with the LEGO Up House set, it was like reliving that special time all over again. This set is incredible! It captures the charm and quirky details of Carl’s iconic balloon-lifted house perfectly. From the brightly colored balloons to the crooked mailbox and even Dug the dog peeking out the window, the designers have thought of everything.

Building the set together has been a fantastic bonding experience. Coco loves sorting through the bricks, identifying the different pieces, and slowly seeing the house take shape. There’s a sense of accomplishment and pride every time we add a new section. The set even comes with Carl and Russell minifigures, which adds another layer of fun for playtime. We can recreate scenes from the movie, letting our imaginations soar alongside Carl’s blimp.

I have to give a huge shoutout to my amazing best friend, Aimee for gifting us this fantastic set. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia, creativity, and quality family time. It’s one perfect LEGO set to as to his collection.
