Honolulu HK Café – A Taste Hong Kong in the Philippines

Pineapple buns, egg tarts, traditional French toasts, Hong Kong-style milk tea – Just a couple of my mom and I’s Hong Kong favorites that we miss eating. In case you don’t know, we just got back from our Hong Kong trip 2 weeks ago where we have easy access of these treats we’ve really fell in love with. I’m so glad that we have Honolulu HK Café here in Manila so I can have our favorite HK treats anytime and more.

Founded in the early 40’s, Honolulu HK Café was founded by Mr. Yeung Jin Hei. He was the one who pioneered the brewing of the cafe’s signature coffee using Hawaiian-style roast, hence the name “Honolulu Café“. Many branches open all over Hong Kong and to other countries as well. It finally reached the shores of the Philippines 3 years ago and the Hong Kong “chá chaan teng”, or “tea restaurant” became a part of many Filipinos who loves Hong Kong-style dishes since then.

Honolulu HK Café has a casual ambiance that offers Hong Kong-style dishes, pastries and beverage at a reasonable price. At the store front of their store, you can’t simply ignore the rows of Bo Lo Buns (pineapple buns) that one wouldn’t have a second thought of buying as they were simply enticing.  Honolulu Café isn’t just about Bo Lo Buns, French toasts, and egg tarts, as they have a lot of other Hong Kong-style dishes and beverages you get to enjoy.

Honolulu HK Café‘s first ever branch is at SM Aura Premier and the second one is at Robinsons Place Manila and this was where we were able to enjoy all the good food that Honolulu HK Café has to offer.
