Is Disney Pixar’s Hoppers the next biggest animation hit? After catching the special advanced screening, I can confidently say: YES. It’s already generating massive waves online, and for good reason! This isn’t just another talking-animal flick; it’s a chaotic, hilarious masterpiece with a massive “Pixar heart.”

What’s the “Hop” About?
Meet Mabel, an animal lover who gets the chance of a lifetime: “hopping” her consciousness into a hyper-realistic robotic beaver body. Her mission? To infiltrate the animal kingdom and save their forest habitat from a greedy mayor’s redevelopment plans. It’s like Avatar meets Mission: Impossible, but with much more fur and a lot more slapstick!

Learning the “Pond Rules”
Once Mabel dives in, she’s mentored by the charismatic King George (voiced by the hilarious Bobby Moynihan). To survive, she has to master the Pond Rules, and honestly? These lessons hit home even for us humans.
Rule #1: Don’t be a stranger.

The Movie: King George says, “It’s harder to be mad at someone if you know their name.” Mabel spends her first days frantically memorizing names like Fran and Petey.
My Take: This hits hard. In real life, betrayal by those close to us hurts way more than from strangers. But knowing someone deeply is also where healing begins. We find the strength to love them again because of that connection.
Rule #2: When you gotta eat, eat.

The Movie: Survival of the fittest! When Mabel tries to save Loaf the beaver from Ellen the bear, Loaf just shrugs—Ellen caught him “fair and square.”
My Take: It’s a reminder that life requires hard work and fairness. We all “gotta eat,” but let’s do it with integrity. Even when life feels unfair, we can choose to play fair and square.
Rule #3: We are all connected.

The Movie: The “Animal Council” shows that every ripple in the pond affects everyone else.
My Take: I’ve learned it in school as a kid, but as a mom, it resonates differently now. What we do affects everyone—especially our kids. We have to be mindful; our “ripples” create their world, their character and how they will live.
Mabel wasn’t always this centered. As a “chaotic kid,” she was brought to her Grandma Tanaka, who introduced her to the Glade—eventually becomes her place of solace. Her grandma’s mantra is the emotional anchor of the film: “Breathe. Listen. The world is talking, you just have to be quiet enough to hear it.”

It’s a beautiful reminder to take a pause when the world feels like it’s breaking. If you’re quiet enough, the world will lead you exactly where you need to be. Right?
Hoppers is Pixar’s funniest movie to date—think Looney Tunes but with a deep, sincere soul of that classic Pixar “gut-punch” emotion. By the end, you truly feel like “you’re part of something big and beautiful.”
During the special advanced screening, the cinema was absolutely roaring with laughter—people were even clapping at the sheer hilarity of the scenes! It’s your turn now – 🇵🇭 Disney Pixar’s Hoppers is showing NATIONWIDE in the Philippines starting TODAY, March 4!
