We recently had a truly enlightening and delicious morning at The Dairy Good Academy: Brunch Edition! It wasn’t just about enjoying great food; it was a deep dive into understanding why our small, daily choices—like the milk we put in our coffee or the cheese we add to our dishes—sum up to a bigger, positive impact on our health and the world around us.

The event was a fantastic blend of expert insights, from the farm to the table, proving that choosing organic European dairy is a decision you can feel good about.
Good for Your Body, Happy Cows, and a Healthy Planet
Tom Alonzo from Arla Philippines kicked things off with an eye-opening session on the benefits of organic European dairy. He shared three powerful reasons why it’s a great choice:

- For Our Body: The milk from organic European farms, especially in places like Denmark, comes from cows that are never given hormones or antibiotics. This means the milk is as clean and pure as it gets, offering a more natural and wholesome product for our consumption.
- For the Cows: There’s a real sense of malasakit (a Filipino word for care and compassion) in how these cows are treated. They are allowed to roam freely and behave naturally, with no forced-milking. Tom explained that a happier, more contented cow produces milk that simply has a better, more natural taste.
- For Our Planet: Organic farming means no pesticides, no artificial fertilizers, and no harsh chemicals are used. This results in cleaner soil and water, which is better for biodiversity and leads to less pollution and waste. It’s a method that truly respects the environment. It’s no wonder that Arla was recognized as the largest organic dairy producer in the world in 2023!
Healthy Eating Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
Dietician and Nutritionist Jo Sebastian took the stage to show us that a healthy diet doesn’t have to be complicated. She highlighted how easy it is to incorporate dairy, a great source of many essential nutrients, into the Filipino dishes we already know and love. We can add it to classics like caldereta and sopas, or easily mix it into our favorite halo-halo and champorado. For those who want to keep it simple, you can just start your day with a glass of milk, a cup of yogurt, or a slice of cheese.

Milk: The Ultimate Sports Recovery Drink
Olympic Nutrition Coach Jeaneth Aro shared a tidbit that amazed me. While we all know milk is great for bone health in both children and adults, she revealed that milk is a complete sports recovery drink! It has all the components of a regular sports drink—carbohydrates, sodium, and potassium—but with the added bonus of calcium, magnesium, and chloride. She emphasized choosing organic whole milk as the best option, as opposed to reconstituted milk. It’s a simple, whole-food way to rehydrate and recover after a tournament or competition.

A Delicious End to a Great Learning Experience
To cap off the event, the renowned Chef Lau and Chef Jac Laudico held a live cooking demonstration. They showed us how easy it is to add a creamy, wholesome twist to beloved Filipino dishes like chicken pastel, caldereta, and torta. We also got to enjoy some mashed kamote and bread with blueberry/cherry and choco. It was a scrumptious lunch that perfectly showcased the versatility and deliciousness of European dairy.

Crafted with care and the highest production standards, organic European dairy is a smart choice for your family’s health and the environment. These products are rich in vital nutrients and free from artificial additives, helping you make mindful decisions that benefit your body and the planet.
