Of course, I had to grab a copy of Hilary Duff‘s book, being a fan of hers as a young teen. Time flew by so fast, Hilary Duff is now also a mom of 3 beautiful kids and actually wrote her first children’s book in 2021, inspired by her daughter, Banks.

This book is about how little girls are given encouragement as they face challenges as they explore the world, with bravery and kindness, as they become anything they want to be. I felt like it also applies to boy moms, or any moms really! I especially relate to it since my young boy entered a new world in the last few months called “big school”. I remember how I always remind him to always Choose Kindness, and how he should never be afraid to try and Be Brave in everything he will do. But most of all, I always tell him to not rush things, as everything he wants to do and be, will come to him at the exact right moment, as long as he knows the strength of his heart – knowing too, that I will always be there to support him in every way.

The beautifully illustrated book makes our eyes wander through its pages showing one or more of the 5 little girls in diverse races in situations that they may encounters. Every page resonating a simple message that, in my understanding, is like the voice of a mother giving encouragements to her daughter as they grow to be confident and independent. Every page may seem to be not connected from the previous page, but as a mom, I think I understand where Hil’s coming from. Every message from every page are a different story and encouragement all together.
